1. Data We Collect

This extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Your DeepSeek API Key (stored in chrome.storage.local)
• Your Doubao ARK API Key, if provided (optional, for image translation)
• Your selected target language preference

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of this data on our servers. Your API keys never leave your device except when sent directly to the respective AI service providers.

2. How Your Data Is Used

• API Keys are used solely to authenticate your requests to DeepSeek (platform.deepseek.com) and Doubao/ByteDance APIs for translation.
• When you click "翻译本页" (Translate Page), the visible text content of the current webpage is sent to the DeepSeek API for translation. No other personal information is included.
• Image text (if you enable image translation) is sent to the Doubao Vision API.

3. Third-Party Services

Translation requests are processed by:

• DeepSeek — Privacy Policy
• Doubao (ByteDance) — Privacy Policy (optional, image translation only)

Please review their privacy policies for how they handle submitted content.

4. Permissions Justification

• storage: Saves your API keys and language preference locally.
• activeTab / tabs: Identifies the current tab to inject translations.
• <all_urls>: Required to run the translation script on any webpage you choose to translate.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored only in your browser. You can delete it at any time by:

• Removing the extension, or
• Clearing Chrome extension storage via the Settings page.
